Benicar 40mg may cause birth defects or fetal death if you take it while you are pregnant. If you think you may be pregnant, contact your doctor immediately. Women of child-bearing age should discuss the risks and benefits of using Benicar 40mg with their doctor. IT IS UNKNOWN IF THIS DRUG IS EXCRETED IN BREAST MILK. IF YOU ARE OR WILL BE BREAST-FEEDING while you are using Benicar 40mg, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.

Some of the side effect may include: an upset stomach, or stomach pain. Check with your doctor if you experience joint pain, stiffness or swelling. It is time to immediately contact your doctor if you experience chest pain; irregular heartbeat; swelling of your hands, legs, face, lips, eyes, throat, or tongue; difficulty swallowing or breathing; or hoarseness; muscle pain; or flu-like symptoms (such as headache, tiredness, muscle ache, or fever) occurs. Seek medical attention immediately if an allergic reaction occurs such as rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, or trouble breathing, this is unlikely though, as allergic reactions to Benicar are rare.

Always follow the directions for using this medicine (as provided by your doctor). This medicine (generic Benicar) may be taken on an empty stomach or with food. Keep Benicar stored away from all sources of heat and light and in a tight container. Missed a dose?, take it as soon as possible. Taking one dose per day and did not notice you missed a dose till the next day?, then skip the missed dose and return to your usual schedule. Never double dose.
